Former U.S. President Donald Trump said he would “like to meet” Mojtaba Khamenei, hinting at possible dialogue as tensions grow between the United States and Iran over an increasingly fragile ceasefire.
At the same time, the situation on the ground remains volatile. Kuwait City has partially reopened its airport after a drone attack blamed on Iran injured several people and caused damage. The country, which hosts U.S. military bases, has been repeatedly targeted amid regional retaliation dynamics.
The U.S. military also reported intercepting Iranian missiles aimed at Bahrain, downing drones targeting civilian ships, and striking ground targets on Qeshm Island in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran accused Kuwait and Bahrain of supporting American operations.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu announced a major $4.5 billion plan to strengthen security and development in northern Israel, an area heavily affected by clashes with Hezbollah along the Lebanese border.
The region remains on edge, balancing between escalation and fragile diplomatic openings.
