Iran has showcased a new missile system referred to as “Rastakhiz,” amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States.
The missile is reported to be about 14 meters long and weighing around 27 tons, with a powerful 3-ton explosive warhead, according to Iranian descriptions.
Authorities claim the system carries two types of warheads: one allegedly designed for tactical nuclear use, and another intended to generate an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) capable of disabling electricity networks, communications, and air defense systems within an 80-kilometer radius.
If confirmed, such capabilities would place the missile among high-level strategic deterrence weapons, capable of targeting both infrastructure and military systems.
The announcement is widely seen as part of Iran’s deterrence strategy, aimed at signaling strength in the face of possible military action from the United States.
Analysts note that such public displays of military capability are often used to influence geopolitical negotiations and demonstrate readiness in case of escalation.
The situation reflects ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, particularly over nuclear issues, sanctions, and regional security disputes.
International observers continue to monitor developments closely due to the potential risk of escalation between the two countries.
