Pan-African electric motorcycle manufacturer Spiro has secured $215 million in funding, marking one of the largest investments in Africa's electric mobility sector. The announcement was made earlier this week as the company seeks to strengthen its position as a leading player in sustainable transportation across the continent.
Already operating in seven African countries, Spiro plans to use the funds to expand its battery-swapping station network and increase its industrial production capacity. The company's business model relies heavily on large-scale infrastructure investments, particularly in battery technology and charging solutions. As demand for cleaner and more affordable transportation grows, the new funding is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric motorcycles and support Africa's transition toward greener mobility.
